Privacy Policy

The Sanata Charitable Trust (SANCHAT) is committed to preserving the privacy of all visitors to our website at www.sanchat.org. Please read the following privacy policy to understand how we use and protect information that you provide to us. This privacy policy contains important information about how we will use your personal data. By registering or placing a donation on this website, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information under the terms of this policy. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the Sanata Charitable Trust is the data controller (i.e. the company who is responsible for, and controls the processing of, your personal data).

Information that we collect from you as a visitor to this website

When you use this website, we may collect information about your computer, such as your IP address and/or browser which we will use for administration purposes and statistical analysis. This information will not usually identify you personally.

Information we collect from you when you make a donation

For online donations we use the service provided by bmycharity.com, please refer to their own privacy policy for details. If you have made a gift aid declaration, we will ensure that this is passed to the HM Revenue and Customs for the purpose of reclaiming tax on behalf of the recipient charity. Your gift aid declaration includes your name and home address, which may be different from your billing address, along with the confirmation that you are paying sufficient amount of tax for the current tax year. Every time you make a donation, you will be given the option to receive further information from the charity. We will not pass on your name or address to any charity other than the one(s) to whom you donate unless you expressly give us your consent to do so. On making a donation using this website you are giving us your consent to collect and process your personal data for the purpose of processing your donation.

Keeping you data secure

We employ security measures to protect your information from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We will retain your information for a reasonable period as long as the law requires.

Information about other individuals

If you give us information on the behalf of someone else, you confirm that that other person has appointed you to act on his/her behalf and has agreed that you can:
• Give consent on his/her behalf to the processing of his or her personal data.
• Receive on his/her behalf any data protection notices.
• Give consent to transfer of his/her personal date abroad.
• Give consent to the processing of his/her sensitive personal date.

Accessing and updating

You are entitled to see the information held about you and you may ask us to make any necessary changes to ensure that it is accurate and kept up to date. If you wish to do this, please contact us at info@sanchat.org. We are entitled by law to charge a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with the details of the information we hold about you.

Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website and, where appropriate, through the email notification.
