Gilgil is a town of 20,000 or so inhabitants in the Rift Valley a little more than 100 miles north of Nairobi, Kenya. It is surrounded by so many natural resources beloved by tourists. The town itself is primarily a stopping point for travellers. Poverty is all around and street children abound. There are shops but few industries so most people survive on their wits and the produce of their land.

We have long been striving towards providing girls with similar opportunities to the boys in our Restart. We are really happy to report the beginnings of this new venture with the first little girls entering our doors!
We are so grateful to the growing numbers of people who are giving of their time to cycle, climb, swim, parachute (and other equally gruelling activities!) with SANCHAT as beneficiaries of their fundraising efforts. If you are planning to participate in a fundraising event or would simply like to make a donation please take a look at our Bmycharity page.
