Harrison and Peter Kamau

Two days before Christmas, Felista (the Restart team leader) was called to the matatu stand (local mini-bus transport system) in Gilgil by a lady who had found these two brothers alone and frightened and having nowhere to go. These boys were just 10 and 11 years old and had been put on this vehicle by their own mother in Naivasha (a town 40 kilometres away) and told to get off when the matatu stopped at its final destination, in other words she was sending them away, out of her life forever because we are assuming she could no longer afford to feed them. They had been so badly neglected and were filthy, hungry and so sad. They are two delightful boys and it is wonderful that they have ended up together and with us. Peter is so happy since living at the Restart, especially when listening to stories and Harrison is an excellent footballer. You can imagine their eyes when Father Christmas not only came to the Restart with a sack of toys, but with two each for them.
